-i got new glasses! they are super-cute! i am taking them back to the store tomorrow because they are making me insane! (the arms are pretty wide and completely cut off my peripheral vision and it is FREAKING ME OUT.) i am going to get the first pair that i liked, but i don't know if i want them in black or silver. (my life is VERY INTERESTING.)

-GMAIL IS MAKING ME VERY CRANKY MAKE IT STOP ARGH. i have comments and links and things i am supposed to be dealing with tonight and IT WON'T WORK. apparently it is something to do with the latest firefox release? idk, but i want it to stop :/

-this is going to come as a big surprise (especially if you know how much of a shallow freak i can be), but my favorite character on fringe is not peter. i mean, i love him, and not just cos he's played by an actor i used to have a creepy shrine to. but he's not my favorite. astrid is. she is made of pure win, you guys! and she is very pretty! and i just love her! and the girl who plays her is coming to d*c yay! i don't imagine that i will care enough about this show to attend any panels, but it still makes me excited haha.

-OH MY GOD VIXY IS NOT WORKING EITHER. internet, pls stop hating me D: i sacrificed (...hee) several hours this week watching videos so i could rip some stuff, and {s notwuhking! >:| >:| >:|

-i am reading this REALLY AWESOME book right now. it is a handbook to luck and it is by cristina garcia and i don't know how to describe it. it is regular fiction, and it follows the lives of three people (a boy from cuba, a girl from iran, and a girl from el salvador) as they grow up. and whatnot. i liked its cover ages ago, and i am finally getting around to reading everything on my list, so i took this out of the library and said "holy shit this sounds stupid" and i fully expected to hate it but HER WRITING. SO GOOD. bfewwbs i am really enjoying it. i was almost sad to spend my morning gossipping with my boys instead of reading. ("almost" only cos these two particular boys always bring me the best gossip.)

-speaking of gossip, it appears that someone at work has started a rumor about me wanting to date one of the boys. (someone came up to me and told me that he was very shy and i therefore need to be more assertive. !!! i should have assertively shoved my foot up his ass.) i don't really have a problem with the rumor, cos lord knows i start worse rumors all the time, but we can't figure out who started the rumor, so it is driving me crazy. starting rumors is MY job, dammit! (as a sidenote, i only start completely false and ridiculous rumors. i gossip about some true stuff, but it's always stuff that is basically common knowledge that just hasn't made the rounds yet. i never bring actual facts into my trufax rumors, unless they are completely taken out of context, such as "those two were both 'OUT SICK' yesterday. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! nudge nudge wink wink!")

-back to books: just finished everlost by neal shusterman. i can't tell if i read a lot of books about the afterlife, or if books about the afterlife are just really common. either way, this was a book about the afterlife. really interesting concept, mostly interesting characters, fairly uninteresting story. would probably read a sequel though.

-now some music: okay, besides the INSANE amount of patd i've been watching on youtube, i've been listening to a lot of mason jennings, jessie baylin, and meiko. and the usual stuff. and i'm waiting on pins and needles for matt nathanson to announce his tour. (if he doesn't come to orlando with jack's mannequin, i am going to death cab instead, assuming there are still tickets whenever this whole this gets sorted out.) allegedly (according to some random youtube user, YES THIS IS MY LIFE) jenny's album is coming out in may, which is mostly awesome, but means fulfilling my creeper quota for the year is gonna be hard cos there's no way i can fly up there in may for a cd release party. sadface! buttttt that means (a) summer tour! summer! the glorious time when i can take gratuitous days off of work to travel the southeast for shows! and (b) bess and allie will have released their eps and can maybe accompany her! oh! unrelatedly! my favorite music magazine is baaaaaack! at least on the internets! oh chart, i've missed you. (yeah, my favorite music magazine is canadian. what of it?) and wrock this weekend! which is extra good because i have basically done nothing the past three weekends besides sit on my couch and watch tv/movies.

-lately i have been filled with the almost irresistable urge to go to tom sawyer island and be a jackass. please tell me someone else has this urge and wants to accompany me.

so, the firefly panels. we skipped the one that was just nathan and alan, but we went to both with nathan, alan, morena, and jewel. the first day the line was actually outside, and pretty much wrapped around the entire hotel. the second day we were inside, and the line went pretty far around the perimeter of the floor we were on. it makes my heart ridiculously happy that over 3,000 people waited in line each day for a panel of stars from a show that was canceled six years ago. (and plenty of people looked at the line and just walked away, or just never bothered at all because they knew it would be crowded, or decided to just watch on dctv in their rooms, or.) (and then there was that one group of girls that seriously asked us what firefly was. yeeeeeeeeah, when the girl who made people define "storm trooper" all weekend thinks you're a moron, there's a problem.)

d*c updates are going to happen little by little, cos i am too lazy to tackle everything at once. so for today: rachel caine!

ok yes, you were all completely right, rachelcaine is so so so sweet and found our flailing charming (thank god). we didn't get to see as much of her as we would have liked (most of her panels were at the same time as panels with another author we loved AND a topic we were interested in), but we did get to talk to her a bit at her second signing, which was fantastic.

she totally flipped out and loved the shirts, as you could probably tell by my completely spazzy phone post haha. there will be photos at some point, but i have to touch up the backs of ours cos the paint pen i used is fading. we also gave her jenny's cd and uh, told her how much we love an hp fic she wrote back in the day. she came running around the table and hugged us and wrote that she loves us in my book <3

in actual factual news, i believe there will be two more weather warden books. (cape storm and then one more.) the ending will NOT be "and then they all died" so YAY. someone else (i swear it wasn't us, hahaha) asked for more lewis or lewis books or basically just LEWIS PLS and she said she would love to write more lewis, and would probably do it as webisodes to keep the 'verse alive after the series is done.

there are going to be a few more morganville books, but the end is in sight for that series too. :( i don't remember what else may have been said about them, haha.

her panel was basically "a history of rachel caine" which was really cool, but i wanted more "here is stuff about my stories" because i am kind of insane. i still don't know how old lewis is, you guys! or why he drives a hummer or has a law degree!

also, she is a big zelazny fan! ashley and i got kind of excited when she announced that, ahahaha.

oh, and she has a pet dinosaur who wore our shirt at the signing and is kind of unbearably adorable. it sang for us!

they really ARE pastry chefs!

man, d*c was awesome. i stumbled across momebie's deep dark secret while we were there, but i think it brought the whole group closer to get it out in the open! she's kind of bashful, but she said i could tell the rest of the world about it so we can all bask in the glory that is her bleat.

it all started when we saw a wee giraffe on saturday night. (well actually, i guess it all started when i realized celebrities could walk the con as a furry and nobody would ever know. joss whedon favors pikachu!) so anyway, saturday night we saw a wee giraffe. through a complicated series of events, we came to realize that the wee giraffe was, in fact, gerard way.

the weird thing was, we never saw giraffe way and kl in the same place. well it turns out that when he wasn't wandering atlanta in a wee giraffe costume, gerard was wandering atlanta in an adorable kl costume! (there is a venn diagram around here somewhere that will prove this all.)

here are some trufax you may not know about gerard way:

• his real name is giraffe, but he goes by gerard to cut down on the mocking.
  
• he giggles a lot when you poke him.
  
• he eats bush for breakfast. (as a wee giraffe, he has trouble with the trees, especially early in the morning. pervert.)
  
• he can be your own personal wikipedia, if you know how to input the data.
  
• his bleat is the best bleat in all the world.

dragon*con! tomorrow! guess who isn't ready! woo!

(haha WHATEVER, at least the weather warden shirts are mostly done. we need to do the backs tomorrow night, but i have paint pens and we will work it out. everything else is pretty much packed, yay.)

and then right after d*c i am having all of my wisdom teeth removed (pls notice the total lack of exclamation points down here). fyi, i am kind of talking funny and can't chew and take a lot of pills every day. it's pretty awesome.

and then right after that g. is down here on vacation! and then before she even leaves i'm going up to jersey and crashing at sheena's!!! and then hanging out with the family for a day or so! and then coming back and renewing my registration and license and car insurance and i am getting even more regular insurance (god, i am like an ACTUAL ADULT) and, i don't know, whoring myself out so the bills can get paid. good times.

but then october is going to contain the best week ever (john green! matt nathanson! ingrid michaelson! all here! all awesome!) and i am really excited.

oh and somewhere in there i am having a birthday, probably getting drunk at that chiahuahua movie, possibly getting a signed jenny poster, and obtaining a guitar.
